Asian values are set of values shared by people of many
different nationalities and ethnicities. It is an intangible things that are
important to us. These values guide us
to make a better decision in our life. Honestly, I agreed to the perception of
those who also joined this event. Asia as all we know composed of many
countries and each countries have their own values that can be proud of so it
cannot encompasses into only one specific value. There are so many various
types of people in Asia with different ethnic backgrounds, culture and manner
of living that are the cause of its distinct values. From what I read from their
post I will share my own thoughts from their given values.
STRONG FAMILY TIES – undoubtedly we possessed this value.
Ever since life came on earth, it started coming together in company of each
other in the family. We found here the support which empower us to persevere
and to strive for the better. In our own family, we begin sharpening our values
at a very young age. Our parents teaches us from the right and wrong. Many of
our values passed down from our parents. During the darkest times of our life,
Family is a place of warm when the world is cold and a place of light when the
world is dark. Our family unites
regardless of how bad the situation may be. It will only bring us closer
together and make the bonds stronger.
CULTURAL AND TRADITIONAL VALUES – Asian Values withstood the
test of time and history help us to spark the awakening by urging us to
reassess our own values and priorities. Even in the face of Asia’s increasing
modernization, because of our traditions and culture, it passes down from the root
of our origins, generation to generation .. because of this,.. values that we
give importance to,.. continue to hold their grounds. The compilation of values
that can only be sown through age, history, experience, reflection, tradition,
and culture help us to live our present life in the right path. As we can see
every countires in Asia has their own culture and tradition. With our shared
history from our fellow Asians, it will further impetus to solidarity leading
into unity.
We have much to learn from our own Asian values. But for
me.. from my own point of view.. generosity, veracity, goodwill, respect for
authority a sense of filial piety, being friendly, kindness and honesty has
their common denominator.... which is the ultimate source of values called
LOVE. The most loftiest or most important of all value.Yes, love is the core f
all values for me. . without love the other values can never be born. This our
own oriented color and oriented inner beauty.
LOVE can express in may ways. It can be through values of
goodness, selflessness, self givingness, openness, respect for the others,
caring for the others and a number of others. Love for freedom,love for the
country, love for oneself, and love for
the others.
LOVE FOR FREEDOM,many people dedicate their entire life or
even give up their own lives to pursue their value. As so many patriots have
done fighting or keep fighting for values of freedom, equality and human
rights. It can also be a freedom of choice, to select infinite opinions,
freedom of meeting and socializing, to meet, marry and have friends who ever
you select and whatever their nationality or location may be. LOVE FOR OTHERS
,we see also how in politics subscribe to certain core values. Ranging from
helping the poor, easing the burden of the lower class, improving the
environment making a government a responsible and efficient, engendering
loyalty and so forth,. We Asians found our happiness when helping other people.
We made self sacrifice just for the sake of others. Improving our human relations
and make us of harmony in purpose.
In short the value of LOVE overrides all other values that
we have in this life. These values are actually a very special power in the
universe. It is one our minds can grasp that comes to us from the infinite source
of things.. which is GOD.
